Improve the shape, colour, position or appearance of teeth with veneers.

A veneer is a thin, tooth-coloured shell which is fixed to the front surface of the teeth. They are most commonly used on the front upper and lower teeth and made from porcelain or ceramic. Veneers can also be used to help protect an affected tooth from further damage.

Veneers are a minimally invasive way to transform a tooth, as only a very thin layer of the enamel is removed, if any, prior to fitting. You will need 2-3 appointments for us to get your new smile in place, making it a much faster smile makeover option than teeth straightening.

What does the treatment involve?

Your initial appointment will be used to check your teeth and gums are perfectly healthy and to carefully plan your treatment, including the veneer positions and shapes.

Once you’re happy with the look we have created, we will prepare your teeth if a thin layer of enamel needs to be removed. We will fit temporary veneers to keep your teeth protected between appointments.

When your veneers are ready, we will invite you back to the practice for your fitting appointment. We will make sure the look is exactly as you expected and envisioned before fixing your veneers in place with a strong dental adhesive.

Looking after your veneers

It is important to look after your veneers with regular careful brushing and flossing. At your regular examinations, your dentist and hygienist will keep an eye on your veneers alongside the health of the rest of your teeth and gums.

Veneers are resilient, but it is important to treat them with care. Try not to bite your fingernails, chew pen tops or use your teeth to open anything. It is also best to steer clear of very hard foods which could cause damage.
